Allstate Claims Guarantee
If you are dissatisfied with the service on a paid auto claim, you can can receive a credit to your premium, but you have to complain in writing 180 days of the incident. Allstate premiums are not cheap, so let's hope they make good of their promises.
Allstate Auto Insurance Update
The company's auto insurance recently had price hikes and tighter underwriting standards in California, Georgia and New York, retention and premiums dropped .4%. Expenses rose because of Allstate's new TV ads featuring "Mayhem."
The company's combined ratio was 100.8 in the quarter, from 93.2 in 2010. The ratio above 100 means Allstate is paying out more in claims and expenses than it takes in from writing new premiums. So they have to raise rates.
Allstate raised rates on an 18 yo son of my friend, he had no tickets, accidents, or any change in vehicle. So they are focused on at least getting rid of higher risk drivers.
Allstate auto insurance discounts in California:
- Anti-Theft Device discount of 5% only applied to Comprehensive coverage.
- Good student discount of 10-15%
- Multi car discount varies
- Multi-policy discount of 2% to 15%
- Mature Driver course discounts of 5% on Bodily Injury and Property Damage
- Renewal discount varies based on tenure.

The claims process remains unchanged by the company’s online status – it requires a telephone call to an agent, meeting with an adjuster or driving into one of their drive-in claims centers where a damage analysis is done. Allstate does use its online site to allow their customers to check on the status of a claim, once they have registered with the Customer Care Center.
