Get as low a deductible as you can afford, my window blew out and I had zero deductible, and my insurance carrier (21st century) changed my window that day and it didn't cost me a thing.

It really pays to comparison shop, esp. if you buy a high performance vehicle. I had my carrier for 5 years but switched to AAA after I bought a souped up caramo. The old company simply wanted to high of a premium to insure the car. I have no tickets or accidents.
theft coverage 12/5/2003 11:22
About a month before our nissan was stolen we called the insurance company to find out how we could reduce our premium. We decided to get rid of theft and a month later, guess what happened? Our truck got stolen and we got NOTHING! Now we pay a little more and get the most comprehensive coverage we can afford.

My insurance carrier allows me to track claims, make payments and change my coverage over the website. Don't use any company that does have their technology up to date.

My son had a State Farm insurer hit his parked car at 1:00 am - totalled it. He was 18 years old with a provisional license. State Farm has yet to settle the claim. They were very rude and nasty on the phone. When the shoe is on the other foot, it\'s a different story, wouldn\'t recommend them to ANYONE.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: MY FIRST EXPERINCE WITH YOUR COMPANY ON RENTAL A VEHHICLE HAS BEEN AN UPSETTING DAY; I AM SPEAKING ABOUT TODAY, WHICH IS FEBUARY 2ND 2003. THE REASON I AM DISSATISFIED IS BECAUSE I PUT MY 1999 BMW 323I IN THE SHOP FOR PAINT REPAIRS. I ASK FOR A RENTAL CAR OF SAME VALUE OR AT LEAST IN THE SAME CLASS. ENTERPRISE PUT ME IN A SMALL COMPACT CAR. I BELIEVE YOUR REP(USAA) AND MANAGER COULD HAVE UP GRADED MY RENTAL ALLOWANCES. I KNOW USAA IS A GREAT COMPANY AND THIS MAY BE A MISUNDERSTANDING BUT I DO EXPECT THE SAME COURTESY AS THE NEXT CUSTOMERS. I DO FEEL I WAS TREATED WRONG TODAY. THANK YOU FOR READING MY COMPLAINT. I HOPE THIS IS MY LAST.
UNHAPPY CUSTOMER!!!!!!!

Allstate ins. co. is a joke. What good is it if you get a quote from them at one price, but when you get the bill, It is twice as much?
Russell 02/16/2004 18:18
Allstate is a rip off.
Dave 02/19/2004 11:43
I hear USAA is outsourcing jobs overseas. Maybe I need to find an Insurance company who is not a traitor to the USA.
steve 02/21/2004 00:20
the 800 numbers they give you suck!!! whenever you call them they either hang up on you or it says you\'ve entered an invalid number then hangs up.
William 02/23/2004 19:58
They paid out a claim on our policy and never informed us. We would have never know about it had we not been out shoping around for another insurance company. Thus we will NOT be renewing our policy at the end of April. Their little lizard can stick it to someone else.
curtmarts@adelphia.net 02/26/2004 16:09
If we have so many hundreds of thousands of cars stolen every year (300,000 in Calif alone) then why doesn\\\'t the car insurance industry pull together to purchase technology to intercept and catch stolen cars the same day thery are reported such as highway cameras connected to current database of stolen vehicles and to local police dispatch just like they do for Amber alerts??? The technology is already tried and proven in UK for years.

State Farm Insurance Co.
Gentlemen:
I don’t know if you really give a damn or not, but I just want to let you know that my wife and I have had our insurance with State Farm now for over 50 years and this is the first claim she has ever had on her car, and I can’t remember when I ever had one.
I think it is really chickenshit of State Farm to now charge us an extra $34.00 for a small ding in the other car and didn’t even scratch our car. Also the fact it was as much the other party’s fault as ours. Probably more.
The two cars were parked back to back in the Country Club’s parking area and when both cars were preparing to go out to the street, my wife was going out to leave in one direction and the other car was backing out in the opposite direction right into the her path, .
I think I might have to start shopping around a little.
Sincerely,
John W. Lauter

I had my truck broken into and all my stereo equipment stolen. It has been a month now and I haven\\\'t seen a claims check yet!!! When I talked to them they make you feel like you are the thief. They keep giving me the run around like they don\\\'t want to pay my claim. I would not recommend this insurance to anyone!!!! They are the thiefs!!

My wife called Mercury Insurance today for a quote on car insurance. In addition to the normal questions about the car, the rep. began asking medical questions, wanting to know if either of us has diabetes, heart problems and so on. They also told us that our premiums would be based on our credit rating as well. To begin with, medical information is confidential and they have no right to that information. When asked about this, they told my wife that some of these medical problems could cause a person to pass out behind the wheel. In this situation they would either not insure you or they would increase your premiums. I guess that means if you have cancer they won't insure you because you might die behind the wheel. What a load of crap. And what does a person's credit rating have to do with anything, either you're going to pay your premiums or you're not. If you don't pay you get canceled, simple as that. Murcury Insurance Company should be shut down. Take my advice and stay away from them.
